Work with other passionate and dedicated volunteers to identify fun, creative, and effective ways to raise funds for the ‘Guitars not Guns Music Program’ benefitting Arizona’s foster children, at-risk youth, and other deserving kids! Funds can be raised through direct public donations, community-centric organizations, or through endowments and foundations. Funds can be raised informally through fun public events or formally through written grant requests.
- With fellow committee members brainstorm, plan, coordinate, and implement fundraising activities. Consider activities like selling, auctioning, or raffling off donated musical instruments. Consider other options such as a benefit concert.
- Expand network and partner with companies, organizations, and even celebrities that might be willing to donate goods or services to be used in fundraising.
- Attend committee meetings as scheduled by the committee chairperson.
- Research and identify foundations and endowments whose philanthropic focus would be a good fit with the mission of ‘Guitars not Guns’. Use network to locate individuals who are willing/able to write grant requests for the organization.
